ROCK thru with more alignment when you're disconnected from purpose

ABUNDANT LIVING SERIES

by Lee Havenga | April 25, 2024

In a world filled with modern distractions and billion-dollar marketing campaigns vying for our attention, it’s easy to lose sight of our need for spiritual alignment, much like clouds obscuring the view of the sun and moon in perfect harmony during an eclipse. You know it’s there, but the alignment is unclear, leaving us yearning for moments of clarity and Connection amidst the noise.

Sometimes, the hustle and bustle of expectations and societal pressures can throw us off our spiritual path. The constant inputs can muffle the quiet messages from God and our inner selves that want to answer, making it tricky to find our way. However, by taking moments for introspection and incorporating intentional practices, we can peel back those layers of distraction. Realignment feels like returning to a familiar place within ourselves, where we rediscover inner peace, receive guidance, and regain a sense of purpose amid life’s chaos.

In this segment of the Abundant Living series, we’ll use the ROCK through the principle of Connection to uncover three practical ways to align with our Maker and embrace the abundance of purpose and fulfillment alignment brings.

Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.

~ Psalm 37:7

CONNECTION

Apply it

                                                                   1. Be Still

  • Choose a quiet and comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. This could be a room in your home, a serene outdoor area, or even in your car.
  • Turn off electronic devices, silence notifications, and create a distraction-free environment. Minimize visual and auditory stimuli to focus inward.
  • Sit or lie in a comfortable position that allows you to relax fully. You can use cushions or props to support your posture if needed.
  • Begin by taking a few deep breaths to center yourself. Then, shift your focus to your natural breath without trying to control it. Notice the sensations of each inhale and exhale.
  • Practice being fully present in the moment without judgment or attachment to thoughts. Allow your mind to settle into a state of stillness, observing thoughts as they arise and letting them pass without getting caught up in them.

                                                                2. Gratitude Ritual

  • Begin or end each day with a gratitude ritual where you express thanks for blessings, experiences, and people in your life.
  • Create a gratitude journal or practice verbal affirmations of gratitude.
  • Focus on both big and small things to cultivate a sense of appreciation and abundance.
  • Gratitude shifts your perspective from lack to abundance, helping you align with positive energies and spiritual harmony.

                                                                3. Journal for Clarity

  • Set aside time for reflective journaling.
  • Write freely about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment or censorship.
  • Use journal prompts related to spirituality, such as “What brings me closer to my spiritual path?” or “What distractions hinder my connection to God?”
  • Review your journal entries periodically to gain insights into the noise and distractions that affect your spiritual alignment.
  • Use this awareness to make intentional changes in your lifestyle and habits to cut through the noise and cultivate deeper spiritual connection.

Remember, in stillness, you’ll find clarity; in gratitude, you’ll find abundance; and in journaling, you’ll find insights. Let these practices guide you on your journey to spiritual alignment, and together, we’ll ROCK thru and make a connection with God. XO ~ Lee
